Hampton’s Head Coach Phones Jesus Before Matchup With Kentucky

Poor Hampton. They barely had time to relish their school’s second NCAA Tournament victory of all-time before questions about the big, bad Kentucky Wildcats started rolling in.

After defeating the Manhattan Jaspers in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, Hampton University’s head coach, Edward Joyner JR., was asked about the mountain that awaits his team in their next matchup. He proceeded to pick up his phone (backwards) and dial the man upstairs.

Unfortunately, not even Jesus can help the 17-17 Pirates. As of now, the #1 seeded, undefeated Kentucky Wildcats are 31-point favorites to win when the two teams square off on Thursday night.

But, at least Joyner and his boys can say they won at least one tournament game and got to play with one of the most dominating teams in college basketball history. That’s assuming they live to tell about it. Watch and subscribe at GMinds!
