Stephen Colbert Interviews Eminem On Michigan Public Access TV

In one of the more deliciously random bits of internet video in recent memory, Eminem sat down with Stephen Colbert for a 20-minute interview on Monroe, Michigan (population: 20,000) public access television.

Colbert sets the tone by introducing Eminem as a “local Michigander who is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music.”

Colbert is in character and Eminem plays along as the straight man in this “Between Two Ferns”-style interview. They discuss Marshall’s Michigan musical influences  — “I imagine Motown? Ted Nugent? Obviously Seger?” said Colbert — as well as his self-styling as more of a political rapper or a “booty rapper,” his new song “Phenomenal”and role as soundtrack executive producer for “Southpaw,” and more.
